The fifth Mapping the Magazine conference will be held at Columbia College Chicago, July 25-27, 2018, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. each day.
As in the past, the conference aims to create an intimate meeting of international magazine scholars from many disciplines (Media and Communications, Journalism, Gender and Cultural Studies, Sociology, Linguistics, English, History, Visual Communications, and so on) who are interested in exploring the current state of magazine research and possibly developing collaborative research projects.
As in the past, papers will be delivered sequentially over the three days, not concurrently in separate streams. Conference delegates are asked to commit to attending all papers.
The organizing committee includes Sharon Bloyd-Peshkin, Columbia College Chicago; Betsy Edgerton, Columbia College Chicago; Tim Holmes, Cardiff University; Kevin Lerner, Marist College; Susan Currie Sivek, Linfield College; and Miglena Sternadori, Texas Tech University.
